The Red Wing Shoes 8800 Moc Toe is made from Dusty Blue Abilene leather, which is manufactured in the Red Wing tannery in Minnesota. It is often referred to as ‘rough out’, which is made by simply turning full-grain leather inside out, so the dense grain (the surface of the leather) is used as is on the inside without any processing. Scratches are less noticeable, and because the grain is not exposed to the outside, it is resistant to natural elements such as rain, and it is a no-compromise leather that can be maintained with minimal maintenance.
