Welcome to Gunther's Co

This year Red Wing Heritage has reached back into the archives to bring back multiple styles that have been disconuted throughout the years for limited releases.

Beckman Flatbox 6" 9060 Black Klondike Leather

The most popular and sought after limited Red Wings were the Beckman Flatbox in Black Klondike Leather. The famous Black Klondike leather, which is unparalleled in it’s quality and texture. The brown base tan is overdyed with a layer of black and therefore over the years the top black color layer will wear off and more and more brown will show through, resulting in an absolutely unique patina. Secondly, the 9060 features the classic Gro-Cord sole, which is a faithful replica of the soles used by Red Wing in the 1930s.

11 Inch Pecos 8060 Hawthorne Muleskinner

Our favorite and most recent release is the 11 inch Pecos. In the mind 2010's the heritage models were discontinued when the Heritage line trimed down the line. In August 2025 they were brought back to coincide with the western and cowboy styles that is booming in the 2020's

History

Introduced in 1953, the Pecos began as a roper-style cowboy boot, defined by its almond toe and low heel. This version is true to that heritage, sticking with the original No. 17 last, honoring the form that made it timeless. he 8060 Pecos comes in an E width, which is slightly wider than their standard D width. However, as the used last no. 17 is slightly narrower in shape
Finally, we have a variation of the original Peco Boots. The 9 Inch Pecos 8168  Hawthorne "Abilene" Roughout. The #8168 was developed in 1996 as a Japanese-designed product based on the #866. It was released in Hawthorne Abilene, a beige rough out leather that was one of Red Wing's three main leathers at the time.

Unlike most suede leathers, which are made by thinly slicing the brushed side of the leather, this leather is used inside out, with the grain (the surface of the leather) where the fibers are most dense on the inside and the brushed side on the outside. It develops a rich, patina with wear and dirt, allowing you to enjoy the changes that occur over time.
