History

In 1897 Clint C. Filson founded "C.C. Filson's Pioneer Alaska Clothing and Blanket Manufactures", today simply known as Filson. Originally, made for prospectors and explorers of the Alaskan "Klondike" Gold Rush that were passing through Seattle. They supplied prospectors with outdoor gear, blankets, boots, clothing, and sleeping bags. Once the rush ended around 1889 the company made the transition to supply gear to hunters, fisherman, and loggers and outdoors men. C.C. Filson having never retired died in 1919, the company was then handed over to his widow and nephew. The company remained in the Filson family for fifty-one years before being sold to their former distributor in Alaska in 1970.

Canvas Outfitter Jacket 

The Canvas Outfitter Jacket is a classic barn coat rooted in Filson's outdoor traditions. This sturdy canvas jacket is tightly woven for tear and wind resistance. One of the more unique designs of their jackets are the pockets. The hand pockets double as flaps for the cargo pockets, this design was taken from their vintage field coats.

Tin Cloth Short Lined Cruiser Jacket

The Short Lined Cruiser is built with Tin Cloth, Flison's signature waxed cotton that has delivered protection from weather, brambles, and abrasions for a century. Treated with their oil finish wax, it keeps you dry in foul weather with its weather resistance wax.
